Globally, there is a need for qualified personnel in the various transportation and logistics fields. For transportation and logistics companies, finding employees with the required skills and an understanding of the industry continues to be challenging. These jobs are not only global; locally, Florida is looking to create 150,000 new jobs over the next five years in trade transportation, logistics, and related services.

This 10-week Trade and Logistics Immersive is designed to be responsive to industry needs and will demystify industry terminology, provide an understanding of geography and its importance in determining trade routes, introduce the regulatory environment of trade and give you an in-depth cross-domain understanding of the field. This course is developed and taught by industry experts and designed to impart the essential industry knowledge, tools, and techniques for immediate application in the work environment.

Schedule & Price

The Trade and Logistics Immersive is a ten-week, fully online course, taught by industry experts with established professional knowledge of the field. Every week, you will complete a series of videos, quizzes, activities and case studies available to you at the time that suits you best. Also, at the end of each unit, you will have the opportunity to discuss the topics covered with an industry expert instructor in a live class session.

Instructor Bio

Raymar Rodriguez has been involved in the trade and logistics industry since 1991. He fell into international logistics after selling a small factory and agreeing to help arrange transport from Miami, Florida to Belize City, Belize. After the completion of the sale of the business, he was hired by a local steamship line. Raymar Rodriguez served as coordinator, sales manager, pricing manager, and finally as a general manager of a regional steamship line.

After several years, he left the transportation end of the business to start a business importing goods from Central America, India, and China. During this period, he worked on several projects importing new and used building materials, scrap metal, furniture, home accessories, and pottery. After selling the import/wholesale business, he worked in Banking for 12 years. In 2010, he returned to the industry to work for an international export packer on cargo projects, industrial export packing, factory relocations, large-scale crating, and warehousing.

Since 2012, he has been working on developing logistic projects and logistics training programs with Miami Dade College (Trade and Logistics Advisory Board), Florida Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association (educational committee), The Port of Miami, The Beacon Council (one community one goal initiative), The Foundation for Democracy in Africa, and Miami International Airport.

He has authored several books on finance, including The Little Green Book of Financial Happiness; LIFE AFTER PRISON, The Little Red Book of Financial Happiness; and Money for Future Adults.
